Police have released information about the incident that caused Ky. to enter soft lock

CLARK COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – A shooting incident put a Kentucky school on a light lockdown Thursday afternoon.

Clark County Schools Superintendent Dustin Howard says the lockdown at Robert D. Campbell Jr. High School was a coordinated effort with police out of an abundance of caution.

He says the police activity has been in the vicinity of the school, but not on the actual campus, and everyone is safe at the school.

According to Winchester Police, shots were fired in the 200 block of Boone Avenue.

No one was injured.

Police tell us they’re not yet sure what led to the shootings, but they have detained an adult and two juveniles and will pursue charges against them.

The school lockdown has been lifted.
